The Stinson-Hagerty Sporting Clays Range on Linehan Lane
You may have heard of sporting clays referred to as “golf with a
shotgun,” and that’s a fair comparison. Rock Creek Cattle Company is proud to have built one of the best sporting clays courses in the country. We invite you to share in this very unique experience while at the Ranch.
We have a National Sporting Clays Association Certified Instructor on staff to assist you if needed. We also maintain a fine collection of rental shotguns for members and their guests, including Browning, Ruger and Winchester, as well as ammunition and safety equipment.
Sporting clays is a simulated hunting game. The course is
designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland
birds and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from
literally any angle or distance to simulate wing-shooting, and six
different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the
experience of actual hunting conditions.
The Rock Creek Sporting Clays course is typically shot in squads of two to six people, with one of our Outdoor Activities Guides to assist. It is constructed on a half mile loop course laid out with eight shooting stations taking full advantage of the natural lay of the land.
