SPRING IN MONTANA
Springtime is one of Montana’s most beautiful times of the year. Wildflowers blanket the hills, valleys and meadows. Trees fill out with greenery, and the winter snowmelt replenishes the lakes and rivers making it the perfect time of year to float on Montana’s 1,400 square miles of lakes and streams. Fly-fishing enthusiasts can take advantage of the spring hatches, which can be super productive after the winter thaw.
SUMMER IN MONTANA
Southwestern Montana is a spectacular mix of water and mountains. It is home to hundreds of lakes and thousands of miles of rivers and streams. Boating, swimming, sailing, rafting, kayaking and, naturally, fishing are some of the water-based activities you’ll find within close proximity to Rock Creek Cattle Company.
For those wanting a more grounded adventure, Western Montana has thousands of miles of trails for hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and of course, horseback riding. The more adventurous will find hundreds of peaks to be bagged, many of which are just a hard scramble and don’t require any technical skill or equipment. Close to home you can hike and camp in the Deerlodge National Forest, which partially borders the Ranch. Trailheads are located at Rock Creek Lake.
